Zemlinsky?

Zemlinsky?

The Chicago Sun-Times has a final review and recap of what sounds like a disappointing summer for the CSO at Ravinia.  In keeping with recent tradition of featuring composers whose music was frowned upon by the Third Reich, the festival featured the works of A. Zemlinsky.  They even went so far as to mention that the city's "One Score, One Chicago" selection was Zemlinsky's the Mermaid (really?)

It sounds like Ravinia was hamstrung with too much Zemlinsky and more weekday concerts which, according to some, relegated the CSO to a second tier act (for shame!)
